Transportation Riders United plans to coordinate its Stand Up 4 Transportation efforts with the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan, public transit providers, unions, partners and allies.



Mass Transportation Authority

Distributing “Stand Up for Transit” buttons for drivers to wear prior to April 9. On SU4T day, distributing 500 “Stand Up For Transit” buttons and other event materials at the MTA’s Transportation Center on April 9. Invited area cities and townships to sign the “Stand Up for Transit” proclamation.

Holding a press conference with American Seating and Grand Valley State University featuring posters, promoting online petition to sign, distributing giveaways at campus, and conducting a photo challenge.


Capital Area Transportation Authority

Invited congressional leaders, local media, business leaders, and transit and government officials to tour CATA's Capital Area Multimodal Gateway, currently under construction. Tour will include the unveiling of an exciting real-time video simulation of region’s proposed BRT route. Agency officials will discuss how CATA uses federal funding to invest in public transportation, enhance economic development and ensure our community and nation’s continued vitality.
