Regional Transportation District

RTD and partners conducting SU4T Day Unity Parade and Rally at Denver Union Station. Leading up to SU4T Day, RTD conducted a “signature bus tour” across the Denver metro region, featuring a specially branded bus that stops in each of 15 RTD districts giving people a chance to sign the bus as a visible show of advocacy." The parade begins at the 16th Street Mall and goes to Union Station where a rally will take place on the Wynkoop Plaza. The rally will feature speakers from a cross-section of the community, including Denver Mayor Michael Hancock; APTA Chair Phil Washington, RTD General Manager and CEO (Emcee); Chuck Sisk, RTD Board Chair; Shailen Bhatt, CDOT Executive Director; Kelly Brough, Denver Metro Chamber President and CEO; Tami Door, Downtown Denver Partnership Executive Director; and Jennifer Schaufele, DRCOG Executive Director. It also includes representatives of advocacy groups, construction companies, workers, veterans, small business owners, and community organizers. Hundreds of people are expected to participate in the parade and rally, carrying banners and waving transportation rally towels. The parade also features the bus covered with signatures, a Colorado DOT Bustang bus, and other transportation vehicles (a snow plow, pedicabs, Van2Go, an Uber car, bicycles and taxis). In addition, SU4T proclamations have been signed by Gov. John Hickenlooper and mayors of several cities.

Colorado DOT

CDOT and local transit partner, Mountain Metropolitan Transit will be at the Chapel Hills Mall parking lot near the northeast corner of Academy Blvd. and Briargate Blvd. with a street team to talk to residents and riders about the role of transportation in their communities.
